Hyannis, Mass., February 28th, 2024 – Cape Abilities, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adults with disabilities on Cape Cod, has announced that it is bringing all individuals in its Community-Based Day Supports (CBDS) program together. The CBDS program helps individuals build friendships, social skills, and volunteer experience in a community setting. Starting in March, all individuals who attend CBDS at the organization’s Falmouth location will begin attending the same program at the Hyannis location. This unification of programs allows Cape Abilities to centralize and maximize its resources in Hyannis while providing the same high-quality, person-centered services to all individuals supported. The Hyannis location, called the Lyndon Center, will provide individuals with broader opportunities in the Upper and Mid-Cape while maintaining the current activities in Falmouth. “Bringing everyone together at our Lyndon Center is an opportunity for greater socialization, connection, and community-building for the people we support”, said Kim McElholm, Cape Abilities President & CEO. “While Cape Abilities’ programs and services span the whole Cape, we are excited to have the Lyndon Center as our headquarters and central connector.” Cape Abilities is committed to providing the highest quality programs and services. Staff and leadership are dedicated to ensuring a compassionate and smooth transition as they welcome everyone to the Lyndon Center.
