Falmouth, MA — Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) invites poets, storytellers, songwriters, and comedians to step into the spotlight for the next taping of Poetic License on Wednesday, November 20 at 6 PM in Studio A at FCTV. The suggested theme, “Remember When,” invites performers to explore nostalgia, memory, and the stories that make us who we are—whether funny, heartfelt, mysterious, or reflective. Unlike most open mic events, Poetic License isn’t just a night of live performance—it’s a televised community showcase. Every performer’s original piece will be recorded and shared across FCTV’s cable channels, Roku, Apple TV, and social platforms, giving local voices a chance to be seen and heard far beyond the room. “This open mic night lives on,” said Anthony Sadera, producer of Poetic License. “Your four minutes don’t vanish when the mic turns off. They’re broadcast on TV and shared online so the whole community can experience your work.” Each performer will have up to four minutes to present an original work. Those unable to attend in person can also participate virtually—submitting performances that meet the same criteria for possible inclusion on FCTV’s airwaves, popular YouTube channel, and social media. Participants can sign up to perform at fctv.org/pl and indicate whether they’ll perform live or submit virtually. FCTV staff will follow up with details and submission guidelines.
