June 24, 2025 (Mashpee, Mass.) - Estia, a popular Greek restaurant with locations in Mashpee Commons and Falmouth, announced that it will change its name to Asti. The name change comes as a result of a trademark dispute with an existing restaurant company that holds the trademark for the name Estia. “The name is the only thing that is changing,” said owner Demetri Markantonis. “Customers can expect the same great food, the same exceptional service, and the same dedicated team that they’ve come to know and love.” The rebranding will be reflected on the restaurant’s signage, uniforms, website and marketing materials. Customers can expect the rollout of the new name over the coming weeks. Asti is an ancient Greek word that translates to a ‘city center’ or ‘gathering place’. “We’ve been a gathering place in Mashpee and Falmouth for many years now, and we look forward to continuing the tradition of enjoying good food among good friends for years to come,” said Markantonis. The Markantonis family opened Estia at 26 Steeple Street in Mashpee Commons in 2014, becoming the Cape’s first upscale Greek restaurant. In 2018, they opened a second location at 117 Main Street in Falmouth. They are renowned for Greek cuisine, coal-fired pizza and craft cocktails.
