Walks will be held on June 1 in Falmouth, Hyannis, and Orleans. Registration is now open for individuals and teams who want to fundraise for Housing Assistance through the seventh Annual Walk for Hope. The three-mile walks will begin at 1p.m. in Falmouth, Hyannis, and Orleans on Sunday, June 1. Funds raised will support Housing Assistance’s mission to strengthen the Cape Cod and Islands region by empowering individuals and increasing affordable housing opportunities. “The Walk for Hope is your chance to take meaningful steps toward housing stability for our neighbors,” said Housing Assistance CEO Alisa Magnotta. “Last year, 6,500 people contacted our office for help finding safe, stable housing. Every dollar raised by the Walk for Hope makes a difference.” The Falmouth walk will begin at Peg Noonan Park on Main Street and Elm Arch Way. The Hyannis event will begin and end at the Village Green off Main Street (near the post office). The Orleans walk will start and conclude at Mid-Cape Home Centers at 15 Main Street. The following organizations will be honored at our Walk for Hope locations, in recognition of their partnership and commitment to the mission of Housing Assistance: • Falmouth: Falmouth Human Services • Hyannis: Delphi Construction • Orleans: Cape Associates This year’s supporters can help the Walk for Hope exceed last year’s accomplishments, which included: • 375 walkers, including 51 teams • $130,362 raised There is a registration fee of $25 for adult (18+) and youth (11 to 17) participants in the Walk for Hope. Children (10 and under) can participate for a reduced rate of $10. Registration fees will be treated as donations and reflected on each walker’s fundraising page. All walkers are encouraged to raise funds in support of the mission of Housing Assistance. Along with fundraisers, Housing Assistance is seeking sponsors for this year’s walk.
