On Saturday, December 14, the Woods Hole Science Aquarium, our program partners at the University of Chicago Marine Biological Laboratory, and the Woods Hole Business Association are going all-out with a full day of activities for the whole family, dubbed the Woods Hole Holiday Stroll. It kicks off with Santa's arrival at our Woods Hole Science Aquarium. The aquarium will be open special hours to welcome Santa and other visitors. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Santa will arrive around 11:30 a.m. to meet and greet visitors until 2:00 p.m. From 2 p.m.until 3:30 p.m., Santa will visit other locations in the village: First stop: Woods Hole Market Next stop: Captain Kidd Next stop: Maison Villette Last stop: Pie in the Sky There are other special offers in the village, from businesses and institutions all along Water Street, from our aquarium to the Woods Hole Library. Other planned events currently include: Masterson Made: Charcuterie board and mocktails, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Captain Kidd: $1 oysters/$1 wings from 3:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. Woods Hole Market and General Store: Complimentary hot cocoa & cookies Woods Hole Inn: Tasty treats and tours of the decorative Woods Hole Inn Pie in the Sky: Complimentary hot cocoa, coffee, and cookies Maison Villatte: Mrs. Claus mulled cherry apple cider with a sample of breads for tasting The Leeside Pub: Raffle for holiday baskets & goodie bags for kids Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Visitor Center & Store: Cookies & cider from 11:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Aquarium's live collection features marine fish and invertebrates that are found in waters off the northeastern United States including a harbor seal and some tropical species that are carried north by currents during some parts of the year. Visit our website for more information. Aquarium is open year-round. Owing to Santa's special event, we will be closed Monday, December 18. Current hours of operation are otherwise Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed weekends and all federal holidays. Admission is free.
