Exciting times lie ahead as the Museum prepares to open its doors for the season on Friday, May 24th, 2024, just in time for Memorial Day weekend. Thanks to the generous support of the Highland Street Foundation, admission to our tours will be free and accessible to all. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the historic c. 1790 Dr. Francis Wicks House, peruse the Conant House galleries, and immerse themselves in our upcoming exhibition, "From Cape Cod to Normandy: Falmouth’s Role in World War II’s D-Day Invasion," at the Cultural Center, opening on June 6th. Our calendar is brimming with vibrant events, including engaging lectures, captivating concerts, and family-friendly activities. In line with our spirit of growth and evolution, we are proud to unveil our refreshed logo, a symbol of our identity and mission as an institution. Following extensive deliberation and collaboration with the Board of Trustees, we are delighted to present a design that encapsulates the essence of our campus. The logo features the distinctive rooflines of our three iconic buildings—the c. 1730 Conant House, c. 1790 Dr. Francis Wicks House, and the Hallet Barn and Cultural Center, complete with our beloved whale weathervane, paying homage to Falmouth's rich whaling heritage. The coastal-inspired color palette serves as a visual reminder of our town's deep maritime roots and enduring beach destination allure. As stewards of Falmouth's history, education, and heritage, these three structures serve as the cornerstone of our endeavors. We're taking a pragmatic, thrifty New Englander's approach to implementing our new logo. You'll gradually see it seamlessly integrated digitally, with physical replacements to follow in due course. While embracing the new, we honor the continuity of our legacy by ensuring the presence of our old logo during this transitional phase. The logo was designed by Kaileen Powers, a designer and marketing specialist.
