The Commission on the Status of Persons with Disabilities is hosting the Inaugural National Disability Employment Awareness Month Celebration, October 5, 2023 MASSACHUSETTS STATE HOUSE, GREAT HALL OF FLAGS — We are excited to announce that the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Persons with Disabilities is hosting our Inaugural National Disability Employment Awareness Month Celebration on Thursday, October 5th, 2023 at 11 am the Massachusetts State House in the Great Hall of Flags. This event will convene people with disabilities, policymakers, employers, human services providers, and other stakeholders as part of our National Disability Employment Awareness Month activities in October. Together, we will honor policymakers for their work in disability employment, recognize MA businesses that lead the way employing persons with disabilities, and share best practices for employers to hire and retain persons with disabilities. Our goal is to promote disability employment as an answer to the workforce crisis we see across industries and to improve Massachusetts’ competitiveness. How can you participate? The Commission on the Status of Persons with Disabilities would love to recognize your efforts in creating and sustaining an intentional inclusive work environment. We hope that you can help us recognize (or nominate yourself!) an organization that strives for disability inclusion and equity.
