Restoration of our Historic Sunken Garden is complete! Over the past few months our Landscape Director, George Chapman carefully curated the new garden design and with the help of Facilities Director, Larry Silva, volunteers from the community, Eversource, and horticulture students from Upper Cape Tech, they worked tirelessly planting 335 Japanese Dwarf Holly, 48 rose bushes, 32 hydrangea, and a myriad of perennial bulbs. Highfield was able to realize the vision for the new garden with thanks to the generosity of Joan and Stephen Clark. The Clarks have been long-time supporters of Highfield and recognized the importance of bringing the Sunken Garden back to life! We’d also like to thank Spring Meadow Nursery in Grand Haven, MI for the generous donation of the rose bushes and hydrangea; and Sylvan Nursery in Westport, MA for a discounted rate on the Japanese Holly. We encourage you to support the businesses who support Highfield. Be sure to visit the garden throughout the year to experience all that will be in bloom!
