In September of 2008, a Scholarship Fund was established in Peter’s name to support Social Work graduate students. That initial fund is now nearly depleted. Hoping to continue to honor Peter’s memory, a committee of Peter’s friends and colleagues have come together to organize a fund-raising event to replenish this fund. Peter Kirwin, was a man who truly carried out the mission of social work, leaving an indelible mark on this community. • Director of the Falmouth Human Services for 25 years • Spearheaded Falmouth Homeless Prevention programs with Bob Murray. • Was actively engaged in the establishment of the Falmouth Service Center to address food insecurity. • Original director of the Fairwinds Clubhouse which offers fellowship, advocacy and education for those with psychiatric disabilities. • One of the founders of the Falmouth Education Foundation. His contribution will carry on through those students supported in his honor and the work they do in the future. We are planning to hold a fundraising event on Sunday October 23, from 1 to 5PM at Liam Maguire’s Pub on Main St, Falmouth. Come join the fun! There will be live music and a silent auction. Additionally donations can be made directly to the fund at: https://capecodfoundation.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=1448
