Thursday, May 19 from 6pm–9pm Sunday, May 22 from 10am–1pm In the Art Studio Jekyll & Hyde is a show that explores both the duality and duplicity of humanity. The story is filled with raw and vibrant characters. For this production, we are seeking performers of all ages and physical types. Performers with visible body art and piercings are welcome and encouraged at the auditions. Auditioners should prepare one up tempo and one ballad, preferably something that shows your range and is NOT from the show. Versatile performers with pop/rock style inflections welcome for principal roles. Character breakdown: Gabriel John Utterson - Serves as Jekyll's lawyer and helpful friend. He advises the troubled doctor on personal and professional affairs. Gender: Male Age: 35 to 45 Vocal range top: F#4 Vocal range bottom: B2 Sir Danvers Carew - Emma's loving father and Chairman of the Board of Governors. A charming and gentle man. Gender: Male Age: 45 to 55 Vocal range top: F#4 Vocal range bottom: C3 Henry Jekyll / Edward Hyde - Jekyll is a doctor obsessed with proving himself by exploring the nature of man. He is Emma's fiancee. As Hyde, he is violent, commanding, and drawn to Lucy. Gender: Male Age: 25 to 30 Vocal range top: A4 Vocal range bottom: Bb2 Simon Stride - The secretary of the Board of Governors and Jekyll's rival for Emma's affections. Gender: Male Age: 30 to 40 Vocal range top: G4 Vocal range bottom: A2 Emma Carew - The daughter of Chairman Danvers, and Jekyll's beloved fiancée. She is refined and desired by all of the socialite men. Gender: Female Age: 20 to 30 Vocal range top: C6 Vocal range bottom: A3 Lucy Harris - The gorgeous 'main attraction' at a local gentlemen's club. At the bottom of her luck, she becomes the object of Hyde's obsession. Lucy is feisty and wild, but also cautious and aware.
