Salt Pond Realty, LLP is pleased to welcome Kate McGowan Davis to the team. Although new to the real estate industry, she is no stranger to the Falmouth community. Kate grew up spending her summers sailing in Quissett, where she met her future husband, Hilary Davis. After several years as an event manager and party planner for Taylor Rental in North Falmouth, Kate decided it was time to be her own boss and opened her own catering company, Kate Davis Events, which enabling her to continue delivering high quality customer service to her clients. During that time, Kate also worked in the restaurant industry, most recently at Bleu in Mashpee Commons, all while juggling the full-time job of motherhood. With her three children now grown, Kate once again found herself ready to pursue a new personal and professional challenge. Although not by design, Salt Pond Realty, LLP is an all-female office, owned and operated by co-founders, Christine O’Leary and Cynthia Furtado. Located in historic Queen’s Buyway, there is a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration. The setting has proved to be ideal as Kate carves out a niche for herself in the local real estate industry. Ms. Furtado has worked with Kate on several events over the years, and invited her to join the five-member team last winter, knowing she would be an asset. Kate earned her real estate license in March and began working at Salt Pond Realty, LLP in April. “Kate is the perfect fit for us. She brings a wealth of local knowledge, influenced by her own perspective, as a resident and a mother,” Ms. Furtado said. “It’s more than buying or selling; it’s a lifestyle. We live, work, and volunteer here, making us better informed about why Falmouth is unique.” Helping people see a dream to fruition, whether it’s planning a wedding or purchasing a home, is a desirable challenge for Kate. “I love working with people to realize their goals, from young families buying their first home, to retirees who are ready to downsize,” she said. “Whatever the situation, it’s a big undertaking, and there are many emotions involved. I’m honored to be part of that process.” Kate is active in the local community, as a member of the Quissett Harbor House Land Trust, for which she also serves on the nominating committee. Like many Cape Codders, she and her family take full advantage of coastal living, spending as much time as possible on the water. Although they are lifelong sailors, they owned a powerboat for years and only recently purchased a sailboat, signifying another new chapter. They live in Hatchville, and her husband, Hilary is the director of Information Technology for the Woodwell Climate Research Center in Woods Hole. Their 23-year-old daughter, Meredith, works as a medical assistant, and their son, Colby, 21, is a junior at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Charlotte, the youngest, is a senior at Falmouth High School and will also be attending MMA in the fall. They have two Golden Retrievers, Isla and Clio. Kate is grateful for a career that enables her to share her passion for Cape Cod. “I have so much love for this town, and so many strong connections in Falmouth, dating back to my childhood in Quissett. It’s extremely rewarding to help my clients become part of this special community,” she said. If you’re buying or selling a home, contact Salt Pond Realty, LLP today at (508)444-6891.
