AFCC Selects Artists For Winter Art Exhibit

AFCC Selects Artists For Winter Art Exhibit

December 2, 2013 (Centerville, MA) The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod has chosen the artists who will be featured in the seventh year of their juried winter art exhibit at Cotuit Center for the Arts. This year's exhibit, titled Seeing the Light will feature artists' interpretation of the theme both literally and
figuratively. It will feature 66 of the Cape's top established and emerging artists and run from January 11 through February 22, 2014.

course of the month. School groups will be welcomed to the exhibit for free for the duration of the show, and will be given docent-led tours and art instruction customized to the age level of the children.

There were a record 452 submissions from area artists for this year's exhibit. The jury, made up of local art experts, chose the following artists for inclusion in the exhibition: Mary Carroll Allen, Kate Aubrey, Catherine Baker, Howard E. Barnes, Claudia Borden, Rebecca Bruyn, Eileen Casey, Wendy H. Cavallini, Mark Chester, Sara Cook, Dianne Corbeau, Shareen Davis, Jackie deRuyter, Grant A. Doney, Barbara Ford Doyle, Maryalice Eizenberg, Joe Fattori, Stephanie Foster, Lynne Foy, Maura Ghedini, Alfie Glover, Deborah Fowler Greenwood, Kenneth Hawkey, Michael Helfen, Marieluise Hutchinson, David E. According to AFCC Executive Director, Kevin M. Howard, "The Arts Foundation is proud to present an exciting exhibit showcasing the incredible talent of the region's established and emerging talent. While the exhibit has been created as an arts education experience, the quality of the show will inspire viewers of all ages."

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, Barnstable County's regional arts agency, provides artistic, cultural, and educational programs in every town on Cape Cod, with an emphasis on supporting arts education initiatives, individual artists, and cultural organizations year round.
