Advocates for a Community College Education is a non-profit, volunteer organization which has awarded an average of a dozen scholarships a year since its founding in 2012. Awards are up to $1000 per semester, or a total of $4000 over two years. Recipients are required to maintain certain minimum grade levels and to meet regularly with mentors to discuss grades, course selection and any difficulties students encounter. ACCE assigns two mentors to each student. Advocates are business professionals, educators, and anyone who has a passion for making a community college education available to more students.
