[Cotuit, MA] The public is invited to celebrate the Cotuit Kite Festival at the Cahoon Museum of American Art’s Family Day, Saturday, July 3. Artists Hilary Hutchison and David Sigel will be under the tent on the Museum lawn from 1 to 3 p.m. offering a free hands-on kite art activity. Have fun watching the fanciful creations come to life in front of the Museum where they will be displayed for all to see. Once you’ve made your kite, step inside the Museum for a special $5 per family admission and see the new exhibitions, including the 75-foot panoramic oak tree mural – the centerpiece of the Ethan Murrow: The Greenhouse exhibition. Tour the Museum galleries and complete a seek-and-find of mermaid tails in our Ralph and Martha Cahoon paintings on display. Find them all and you’ll take home a special prize. The Family Day celebration takes place rain or shine at the Cahoon Museum of American Art, 4676 Falmouth Road (Rt. 28) in Cotuit, MA. Interested kite makers are encouraged to reserve a time slot at www.cahoonmuseum.org/events. The event is part of the Cotuit Kite Festival which takes place on July 3 and 4.
