FALMOUTH, MA—Highfield Hall & Gardens will host its 9th Annual Bluegrass Festival on Sunday, August 11, from 2:00-5:00 pm. The free festival, a foot-stomping, fun-filled summer celebration for the entire family, is sponsored by The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. The festival headliner is Honeysuckle, a progressive folk act that blends older influences and traditional instrumentation with modern effects and inspiration. Comprised of Holly McGarry, Benjamin Burns, and Chris Bloniarz, reviewers have raved about this Boston-based band’s “honeyed harmonies and succulent strings.” In 2018, Honeysuckle won “Best Folk Artist of the Year” at the Boston Music Awards. The band just released its new album, Fire Starter. CrabGrass Bluegrass Band, Cape Cod’s “premier bluegrass band,” joins the afternoon line-up. The band is comprised of Les Beavan on banjo, Chris Miner on mandolin, Dan Fortier on guitar, Katy Box on fiddle, and Ted Mello on bass. Guests can bring a picnic or purchase food and beverages from the Barking Claw and Chariot Pizza on site. Highfield Hall & Gardens is located at 56 Highfield Drive in Falmouth. Parking is very limited. Premier parking is available in the Highfield lots for $10/car on a first come, first served basis.
