Fairhaven, MA (November 8, 2022) – On Sunday, November 27, 2022, the many museums of the Cape Cod Museum Trail are thrilled to participate in Museum Store Sunday, an annual holiday shopping day supporting cultural institutions and their stores. This year, more than 1,800 museum stores representing all 50 states and the District of Columbia, 24 countries, and five continents will celebrate Museum Store Sunday and offer unique gifts for the holiday season—with all purchases supporting its parent institution and the artisans and craftspeople who create many of the gifts found in museum stores. Museum Store Sunday November 27th is the signature annual event that directly supports arts and cultural institutions around the world. Much more than a gift store, products sold in museum stores reflect the mission and programs of the museum. Items found in museum stores carefully selected -- just like the works displayed in their institution. Revenues generated by museum stores help fund the operating budgets of the organization, providing economic sustainability for the museum and cultural engagement for the community. People can support the Cape Cod museums by shopping at their stores this holiday season and year-round. There are over 25 Cape Cod museum gift stores open for holiday shopping where people can shop in person or on line. At the stores they will find items from Cape Cod such as jewelry, artwork, glass pieces, music, food, pottery, kid & family activities, books and more. It is an opportunity for museum patrons to directly support their favorite Cape Cod museums as they holiday shop. This will allow shoppers to support the local economy as well, as the money will stay on Cape Cod. Check the Cape Cod Museum Trail website (www.capecodmuseumtrail.com) to see which museum stores are open now for holiday gift shopping.
