Mashpee – Community Health Center is delighted to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of a health information technology grant from the Department of Health and Human Services, through the Health Resources and Services Administration, and will receive $1,066,000 to increase health care access and quality for underserved populations through virtual care such as telehealth, remote patient monitoring, digital patient tools, and emerging health information technology platforms. This grant will be used to advance quality outcomes in primary care by providing additional support for the many health care technologies available. Through this funding Community Health Center will be able to enhance call center operations to integrate and assist with new patient registration and improve triage services with the use of self-diagnostic artificial intelligence technologies. CHC will also be able to improve upon and expand the use of smart technologies for remote patient monitoring and integrate even more telehealth services to better reach individuals who are facing barriers to care. Community Health Center currently offers telehealth services such as, telepsychiatry, tele-retinal exams, teledermatology, and virtual visits across all programs and services. This new investment and the smart use of technology also provides an opportunity for patients to take charge of their health goals and achieve meaningful and lasting changes to better manage chronic conditions, improve overall health and, ultimately, reduce the costs of health care.
