This Yamaha Introduction to Outboard Systems course covers all components and functions of an outboard engine. Upon successful completion of this course, students will have developed the skill set needed to enter the workforce as an entry-level Outboard Engine Technician, and students will receive a Yamaha industry-recognized credential. Students will also be enrolled to participate in an OSHA 10 Safety Program to improve classroom safety while earning this additional certification.
This 100-hour program is for entry-level participants with little or no experience in the field. Previous experience is desirable but not required. Interested participants should have a high school diploma/equivalent or 1-3 years’ experience in the field. This program is not designed for do-it-yourself home repair, but for those looking for a career in the marine industry. Offered with in-person classroom instruction, onsite technical instruction, and online instruction. Students will receive career coaching, curriculum support, as well as hands-on training.
10 student maximum held in person at the Marine Technology Lab at Cape Cod Community College. Marine Technician Certification Training will run three nights per week beginning 9/9/2024 on Mon./Wed./Thu., from 6-9pm. OSHA 10 Certification program will run twice weekly during the first two weeks of the program on Wed./Thu., 9/11, 9/129/19/2024 from 6-8:30pm.
