Hyannis, Mass. – The HopeHealth Board of Directors announced today the appointment of Diana M. Franchitto as president & CEO of HopeHealth. Franchitto was previously the president & CEO of Home Care & Hospice of New England (HCHNE), the parent company of Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island and Visiting Nurse Home Care. In her new role, Franchitto will lead the expanded HopeHealth organization which includes HopeHealth in Massachusetts, Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island and Visiting Nurse Home Care. She was the driving force in creating the largest home care and hospice network in Rhode Island which has become nationally recognized for quality of care and patient and family satisfaction. HopeHealth also announced the successful completion of the affiliation between Home Care & Hospice of New England. Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island is the second oldest hospice in the nation and a national leader in hospice and palliative care. Its academic affiliation with Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School for hospice and palliative medicine is the only one of its kind in the country. At Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, she facilitated a partnership with the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University to become its first non-hospital teaching affiliate for hospice and palliative care medicine in the nation. Franchitto established an inpatient palliative care consultation service for the Lifespan hospitals, selected nursing homes and home care agencies. In addition, she secured home care and hospice preferred provider relationships with Rhode Island’s first Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and other healthcare organizations. Earlier in her career, Franchitto held a variety of senior leadership positions at Caritas Christi Health Care (the predecessor organization to Steward Health Care), then the second largest healthcare system in Massachusetts, where she was responsible for marketing, communications and public affairs as well as network development. Franchitto has an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bentley University. She is a sought after speaker at hospice and home care professional conferences and with regional civic organizations. She is also on the Board of Directors of the National Partnership for Hospice Innovation, the Rhode Island Quality Institute, Healthcentric Advisors, the PACE Organization of Rhode Island and CareLink.
