Falmouth Campus unveils new preschool playground FALMOUTH-MA, November 20, 2018 On Saturday, December 1 the Falmouth campus of the Cape Conservatory will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30am to commemorate a new preschool playground. Thanks to generous donations from local construction company, the Valle Group, and another private donor, the Conservatory was able to excavate the land behind the Conservatory, creating a more secure but picturesque setting for the new playground overlooking Beebe Woods. Previously, the playground was adjacent to the Conservatory’s parking lot. The public is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony and enjoy complimentary hot cider and delicious baked goods from Maison Villatte. Along with the playground, guests are encouraged to visit the Conservatory’s recently-expanded preschool classroom and participate in a make-and-take craft. The Conservatory preschool has grown in size and stature under the leadership of Executive Director Stephanie Weaver and Preschool Director Anne Kullas. “In addition to our nurturing and highly skilled preschool teachers, Jaime Ogilvy, Alison McGrail, and Kerry Jones, we offer an arts-enriched curriculum including a Suzuki-inspired violin program that is taught as core curriculum. It’s an exciting time to be a preschooler at the Cape Conservatory,” exclaimed Weaver. Work on the preschool playground began over the summer. The Valle Group, along with former Cape Symphony & Conservatory trustee, Robert Schofield, funded the majority of the project, enabling the Conservatory to excavate the land and install new fencing. The next step is to fundraise for new playground equipment. “Unfortunately, the wood was rotten on our former playground structure and we were not able to move it. We are now fundraising for new playground equipment for the children,” explained Weaver. “With a goal of $4,000, we can wrap up payment of the fencing and acquire safe but fun new play structures.” If you go: Cape Conservatory Preschool Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Saturday, December 1, 10:30-11:30 AM 60 Highfield Drive, Falmouth 508.540.0611 For more information, please contact Amber Broderick, Falmouth campus manager, abroderick@capeconservatory.org; 508.540.0611.
