(Hyannis, March 16, 2018) The Cape Cod Healthcare All-Stars will take on the Police Athletic League (PAL) All-Stars in a hockey game to benefit Cape Cod Healthcare Cancer Services on Saturday, March 31, at the Kennedy Rink in the Hyannis Youth & Community Center (HYCC). The puck drops at 4 p.m. The Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC) team is led by Devin McManus, MD, an internal medicine physician at Falmouth Hospital. Other members of the team are Paul Houle, MD, FAANS; Andrew VanVugt, MD; Leslie Pimentel-Matthews; Steven Wong; Greg Everson; Doug Kennedy; Noberto Aflague; Chris Kuenzel; Jack Crowley and Rob Weber. Tom Poti, former NHL player for the Washington Capitals, is honorary captain. “We are so pleased to be skating against the PAL organization,” said Dr. McManus. “They are such a vital part of the community and they decided to help Cape Cod Healthcare Cancer Services by skating in this game.” PAL was started in 2000 by K.C. Clarkson. The group provides outreach, funding and support for many children’s programs on Cape Cod through educational, athletic, mentoring and recreational activities. “The proceeds from this game will benefit everyone, not only kids, but also parents who may be going through cancer treatment. Whatever we can do is good,” said Clarkson. Tickets for the hockey game are $10 and can be purchased at the door or at www.capecodhealth.org/give/events. There is no charge for children 12 and under.
