(Cotuit, Massachusetts) The Cahoon Museum of American Art kicks off a new 10 week “Sundays at the Cahoon” series on October 3rd, offering free admission from 1:00-4:00pm every Sunday with a special event planned each week at 2:00pm. The series includes artist talks, gallery tours, open houses, and family friendly programs and continues through December 5th. To jump start the series, artist Lynne Francis-Lunn, a Falmouth native whose artwork is on view in the current exhibition, Interwoven: Contemporary Basketry, will offer a gallery talk on October 3rd at 2:00pm. Francis-Lunn, known for her “sculptural weaving” of hand-painted paper, will discuss her artistic journey from a young loom weaver to a master basket maker. She will bring samples of her artwork, provide a demonstration, discuss her influences, and share the challenges and joys of her chosen medium. She has two new artworks currently on view at the Museum: Life is Complicated and Wondrous Waves.
