Mashpee – Community Health Center of Cape Cod is pleased to welcome Samantha Fitzmaurice, LICSW and Caryn Thornton, LICSW to their Behavioral Health team at the Health Center’s Mashpee office. Ms. Fitzmaurice is a graduate of Simmons College in Boston, with a Master of Social Work degree. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater. Prior to joining the Health Center, Ms. Fitzmaurice worked at Vinfen in Boston, where she served as a Clinical Coordinator and a Clinical Care Manager. She has an extensive volunteer history and is also proficient in Haitian Creole. Ms. Caryn Thornton, LCSW received her Master of Social Work degree from Bridgewater State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Bridgewater State University. She was previously a Long-Term Care Social Worker at Cape Heritage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after completing a social work internship at Cape Cod Hospital. Ms. Thornton is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and has volunteered as a Hospice Volunteer with the Visiting Nurse Association of Dennis. Community Health Center of Cape Cod offers Behavioral Health services that are provided to Health Center patients by social workers, behavioral health counselors and psychiatrists. Behavioral Health services are available at their Bourne, Falmouth, Mashpee, and Sandwich offices, and include addiction assessment and counseling, adult psychiatry, couples and family therapy, depression and anxiety screening, medication evaluation, mental health assessment, short- and long-term counseling, substance abuse support, trauma counseling, and referrals.
