[HYANNIS, MA June 17, 2021] Effective June 15, 2021, Cape Cod Healthcare has implemented an updated patient visitation and accompaniment policy as part of its continued commitment to the safety of patients and staff. The guidelines are as follows: • Two inpatient visitors at a time will be allowed, with exceptions noted below • One Emergency Department visitor at a time will be allowed • One Labor and Delivery visitor will be allowed in addition to a birth partner or doula • Visitor(s) will self-screen for symptoms of respiratory illness and fever per hospital policy • Visitor(s) must wear a mask at all times • Visiting hours are 11:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. daily • No visitors under the age of 18 EXCEPTIONS to above: • COVID-19 positive: o End of Life: a discussion with the family and caregiver(s) must occur prior to visitation. Visitor(s) must be vaccinated and will be provided PPE (surgical mask, gown, face shield and gloves). o Labor and Delivery: the patient will be allowed one birth partner or doula and no visitors. The support person will be provided PPE (surgical mask, gown, face shield and gloves). Accompaniment: One visitor may accompany a patient for assistance when visiting a facility. They will self-screen for symptoms of respiratory illness and fever per hospital policy and be required to wear a mask. Please note, Cape Cod Healthcare will continue to require all visitors leave their full names and contact information upon entry.
