CARE for the Cape and Islands has partnered with the US Army Corps of Engineers Park Rangers to present a socially-distanced community volunteer opportunity. We invite all to join in by cleaning along the Cape Cod Canal or a location of one’s choosing October 9-19. Participants are asked to share photos for a chance to win a prize pack from CARE and T-Mobile USA. Post photos during the event by using #TakeCareCapeCod or #ThinkLikeIts1620 to enter. Donations of $16.20 or more to the Think Like It’s 1620 Campaign to support one or more water filling stations are encouraged and gratefully appreciated. We are asking all volunteers to sign up for a specific location ahead of time to allow for social distancing and to ensure that we cover as much of the Canal as possible. Volunteers may sign up for 2-hour time slots at one of eleven designated locations along both sides of the Cape Cod Canal. A map and registration details may be found by visiting the event page: https://careforthecapeandislands.org/calendar-2/ The page also provides tips on how to prevent additional trash during cleanups. Anyone that has additional questions may contact info@careforthecapeandislands.org or Elisa.D.Carey@usace.army.mil. Please help to spread the word and make this the biggest cleanup yet!
