On Friday, October 9, 2020 a concert tribute to Joni Mitchell will premiere as the first pay-per-view virtual concert recorded at Cotuit Center for the Arts. The concert will stream at 7pm on October 9, 2020 and will be available to view with a purchased link any time until Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 10pm. “Even with the recent relaxing of some restrictions in the Governor’s reopening plan, we cannot present programming featuring singers to a live audience. So we’re going to bring the live experience from our own theater into the homes of our patrons. We’ve invested in new sound and video equipment, and I couldn’t be more excited that our first pay-per-view offering features the incredible Dawna Hammers with special guest musicians Pat Ryan, Rich Hill, Klem Klimek, and Don Cross. If you close your eyes, you’ll think you’re at a Joni Mitchell concert” says David Kuehn, Executive Director. Dawna Hammers is a multi-talented singer songwriter and performer who has been entertaining on the Cape for over 30 years. “Back to the Garden: A Tribute to Joni Mitchell '' showcases Dawna’s nuanced song styling and musicianship as Dawna is also an accomplished pianist, guitarist, and dulcimerist. Her back-up band features some of the Cape’s finest musicians who have been performing this show for the past 5 years. Fans of Joni Mitchell will love the set list, which features such classics as Both Sides Now, Cactus Tree, Woodstock, Big Yellow Taxi, Help Me, and many more. Admission is $25 for a virtual ticket, available at https://artsonthecape.org/explore/dawna-hammers-back-to-the-garden Cotuit Center for the Arts, 4404 Route 28, Cotuit, MA 02635.
