FALMOUTH, MA - Falmouth Community Television is offering a new curriculum of media and computer classes in June using the Zoom teleconference platform. In "Zoom Basics", participants will learn all the Zoom essentials, fundamentals and basics to hit the ground running when hosting and participating in online meetings using the popular Zoom teleconference platform. This is a one-session class and is scheduled three times in June: Monday, June 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM; Friday, June 19, from noon to 2:00 PM; and Monday, June 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The fee for this class is $5.00 for members and $15.00 for non-members. Participants needing assistance to get onto Zoom for the first time will be provided technical support from FCTV staff in advance of the meeting. In "Smartphone Photography," participants will learn how to take better pictures using smartphones and enhance them using a variety of editing applications. This one-session class is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The fee is $15 for members and $50 for non-members. In “Google Apps,” participants will learn how to use and integrate Google Apps (G-Suite) into their daily workflow using Google Drive, Google Calendar, YouTube, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, and other apps. This two-session class is scheduled for Monday, June 22 and Tuesday, June 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The fee is $15 for members and $50 for non-members. In “Podcasting and Videoblogging,” participants will learn tips on how to create their own compelling podcasts and Vlogs or upgrade the quality of their existing programs. This one-session class is scheduled for Friday, June 26, from noon to 2:00 PM. The fee is $15 for members and $50 for non-members. “Intro To Field,” a three-session hands-on class, will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 22 through June 24 from noon to 2:00 PM. In this workshop, participants will receive hands-on experience with FCTV’s HD field cameras and equipment and instruction via Zoom teleconference. This class is only for FCTV members who have completed Orientation and is free. Participants will be able to check out a field camera package using FCTV’s curbside pickup procedure in advance of the class.
