It has been a few weeks since I last communicated with you, and all of us at The Coop have remained steadfastly committed to serving our clients and community no matter the circumstance or challenge. When the pandemic struck the Cape, The Coop acted quickly. We equipped many of our employees with the tools to work from home; increased cleaning in all areas and especially in high-traffic areas, such as ATMs and drive-thru canisters; provided all employees with face coverings and sanitizing supplies; and modified our hours and staffing at our branches to accommodate our employees and clients. We adapted to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, while maintaining our commitment to our clients and community. In a short period, The Coop has made an impact on our community. $200,000 in support helped nonprofit organizations across the Cape serve those most in need, including $50,000 in micro-grants. More than 750 business owners were able to retain more than 10,000 employees through our participation in the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program. More than 200 Cape Cod homeowners were able to remain safely at home through our mortgage relief programs. Assisted many deposit clients to manage personal financial challenges created by the virus. We have been here for you, our community, and for each other throughout this pandemic and will likewise be here for you as we all begin to “ReCOOP”. Our team of experienced and dedicated bankers have embarked on a plan to safely and responsibly transition to in-person transactions and appointments. While we don’t know exactly how we will all “ReCOOP”, I want to reassure you that we are backed by a strong financial position and committed to working together to reopen the Cape responsibly. We have worked hard to serve you throughout the pandemic, but also realize that some things are best done in person. Our teams are evaluating how we will begin to safely serve your banking needs with in-person transactions and appointments, and I’d like your feedback. Please let me know how you will bank going forward by taking our brief online survey. Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond! TAKE OUR SURVEY While much is yet to be determined, I’m reminded of Eleanor Roosevelt’s words: “You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” We will remain in close touch as restrictions across the Cape begin to ease. We’re here for you as we have been for nearly 100 years. Stay well, and thank you again for your continued support. Be well, Lisa Oliver President & CEO #InThisTogether
