(Plymouth, May 24, 2019) Cape Cod Healthcare Neurosurgery is opening an office in Plymouth, bringing high-quality neurological surgery care to the area. All five surgeons in the group will be seeing patients at the Plymouth location at 74 Long Pond Road, and will perform surgery for patients who need follow-up at Cape Cod Hospital. The Plymouth office will be open and prepared to see patients as of May 30, 2019. Cape Cod Healthcare Neurosurgery is headquartered at 46 North Street in Hyannis, and also has an office in Falmouth. The five neurosurgeons in the practice include Paul Houle, MD, FAANS; Achilles Papavasiliou, MD, FAANS; Gordon Nakata, MD, FAANS; Nicholas Coppa, MD, FAANS; and David Leppla, MD, FAANS. All are skilled and experienced in all aspects of neurological surgery, from back pain to brain surgery. All studied and trained at top academic medical schools and centers in the country, and have been performing surgery for many years. “We look forward to bringing our neurosurgical surgery services to the Plymouth area,” said Dr. Houle. “We have known for a long time that there is a need here, and have reached a place in the growth of our practice to be able to serve the Plymouth community with the same great care we have provided to the Cape Cod community for the last 25 years.” Cape Cod Healthcare Neurosurgery surgeons treat all brain, spine and nerve-related conditions, including brain aneurysms, tumors, strokes and injuries, performing more minimally invasive spine surgeries than neurosurgeons in many Boston area hospitals. The surgeons and their teams have access to the latest technology for minimally invasive procedures and complex microscopic surgery. This technology also includes computer-assisted image guidance systems to navigate the delicate structures of the brain and spine, pinpoint the surgical target and protect nearby tissue and nerves. Some of the procedures the neurosurgeons perform and conditions they treat include: ? Endoscopic discectomy ? Spinal stenosis ? Cervical disc replacement ? Endoscopic pituitary surgery ? Sacroiliac joint fusion ? Minimally invasive microdiscectomy ? Kyphoplasty ? Craniotomy for brain tumors To schedule an appointment with one of the neurosurgeons at the Plymouth office, or at any of the Cape Cod Healthcare Neurosurgery office locations, please call 508-771-0006.
