Community Health Center of Cape Cod is pleased to announce that it will again host the Mashpee Substance Use Drop-In Nights, held on the first Tuesday of every month from 4-7 p.m. The Substance Use Drop-In Night was launched by the Mashpee Substance Use Task Force in June 2018 to provide treatment options, counseling and education to individuals and families struggling with substance use and addiction. The program has been very successful in helping people connect to services and resources, such as access to treatment beds, counseling appointments or recovery programs. The program is free and open to the public and is run as an open house with different human services organizations represented, including South Bay Mental Center, Gosnold on Cape Cod, Community Health Center of Cape Cod, Duffy Health Center, AdCare and Parents Supporting Parents. At the end of last year, the event was moved for the Mashpee Public Library, but the program will return to the Health Center beginning in April. The Health Center continues to do its own part to combat Cape Cod's opioid crisis by offering three addictions programs: Step Forward, a Medication-Assisted Treatment Program (MAT) and a Structured Outpatient Addictions Program (SOAP). These programs are wide-ranging, accessible to all and align with CHC's mission to improve the health of the community through the provision of comprehensive, high quality, compassionate health care to all, regardless of ability to pay.
