Eleven Falmouth Academy students received a total of 19 prizes at the annual Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition, which supports and celebrates young artistic talent. The Gold Key winners were Hannah Stillman of Plymouth for her digital art “Zesty,” and Alice Tan of Mashpee for her drawing “The Death of Julius Caesar.” The Silver Key award winners included Heather Wang of Falmouth for her art portfolio, including photo and film; Natalie Todd-Weinstein of Falmouth for her photo “That’s My Cue”; Hannah Stillman of Plymouth for her photo “Time and Water”; Colby MacLean of Falmouth for his drawing “Gatsby”; and Makenzie Luce of Vineyard Haven for her painting “"Élevé en É change.” Honorable Mention award recipients were Leah Littlefield of West Tisbury for her writing portfolio; Isabel Heard of Falmouth for her painting “Woodneck Beach”; Emma Keeler of Rochester for her three ceramic works: “Red Jug,” “Red Jar” and “Brown Teapot”; Makenzie Luce of Vineyard Haven for her glasswork “Maisy”; Anna Metri of Bourne for her photo “Self 2”; Maisie Saganic of Falmouth for her drawings “Beat Navy” and “Her Eyes are Like Pennsylvania”; Hannah Stillman of Plymouth for multiple works, including her digital art “Cascade”; printmaking “Outspoken”; and photo “Blood Red”; Alice Tan of Mashpee for her two drawings “Socrates, Plato, Heraclitus and Diogenes” and “Vitoria”; and Ellie Thomas of West Tisbury for her photo “Inhale.”
