SOUTH YARMOUTH—The Thomas C. McGowan Fund for Animals of The Cape Cod Foundation recently awarded a total of $45,000 in grants to 11 local nonprofit organizations to support domesticated animals and wildlife. The fund was established at the Foundation through a gift from the late Thomas C. McGowan, who was passionate about animals and wanted to ensure there would be funds to support their protection and welfare long after his death.
