FALMOUTH— As part of its annual Christmas Traditions events, Falmouth Museums on the Green will host tours of the historic 1790 Dr. Francis Wicks House, decorated for the holidays by the Falmouth Garden Club, from December 1-9. Last year’s theme centered around December 1917 during the First World War. This year’s tour picks up one year later. “The war has ended. Rationing is over. Our boys are finally coming home,” says Mark Schmidt, Executive Director of the Museums. “But change is in the air. Women are vying for the vote. Prohibition and the Roaring Twenties aren’t far away. We dig into the archives to give visitors a glimpse of what life might have been like in the Wicks House during the holidays almost a century ago.” Admission to the House Tour is $10. There is no charge for Museums’ members. This year’s schedule is: December 1, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. December 2, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. December 5, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. December 6, 1 p.m.-7 p.m. December 7, 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. December 8, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. December 9, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The Falmouth Garden Club will also present its annual Holiday Market & Greens sale on the premises on December 1, 7 & 8 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The group will be selling holiday decorations and crafts, baked goods for gift-giving and boxwood topiaries, wreaths and fresh greens from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. As a special treat, on Saturday, December 8, the Museums will host “Gingerbread Houses for Kids,” a fun, free, make-and-take activity for toddlers, tweens and kids in between.
