FALMOUTH—Falmouth Museums on the Green will host “Beer BQ 2”, its annual Fall Festival, on Friday, October 5, from 6:00-9:00 pm. Live music, hot food and cool libations amp up the fun at this 21-and-over event on the Museums’ campus. Funktapuss, known for its popping bass lines, hot guitar and funky sax and keyboards, provides the very live soundtrack for the evening. Patrons can order up food from Sagamore Beach Barbecue, West Falmouth Market and Bear in Boots Gastropub and drinks from Cape Cod Beer and Cape Cod Winery (inside the inflatable pub!). Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. “Last year’s Beer BQ was like a big, neighborhood block party,” says Mark Schmidt, the Museums’ Executive Director. “We had wanted to create another fun, out-of-the-box fundraiser like our Visit from the Night Watchman haunted house tour, and this food and music fest was a big hit.” Tickets are $25 and include the ticket holder’s first beer, wine, or non-alcoholic beverage. Tickets for additional food and beverages are available for purchase on site. Cash is preferred but checks and credit cards will be accepted. All proceeds benefit the Museums’ education programs. The event is supported by four local sponsors: The Wood Lumber Company, Salt Pond Realty, Ament-Klauer, LLP, and Longfellow Design Build. In-kind donations have been provided by Eastman’s Ace Hardware, the Palmer House Inn, Captain’s Manor Bed & Breakfast, and Coca-Cola Bottlers of Cape Cod. The Museums campus is located at 55-65 Palmer Avenue in Falmouth. For additional information and advance tickets, call 508.548.4857, ext. 10 or visit museumsonthegreen.org. The Falmouth Historical Society’s mission is to preserve, share and celebrate the history and culture of Falmouth through its archives, exhibitions, educational programs and community events. The Museums on the Green campus includes: The Dr. Francis Wicks House (c. 1790), the Conant House (c. 1730), the Hallett Barn (2002), a Cultural Center for events, exhibitions and private rentals, and a Colonial-style flower garden, herb garden and memorial garden maintained by The Falmouth Garden Club.
