(Hyannis, August 7, 2018) – Cape Cod Healthcare is pleased to announce that for the eighth consecutive year, Cape Cod Hospital (CCH) has been named one of America’s 100 Great Community Hospitals, according to a study by Becker’s Hospital Review. This recognition is based on quality of care and service to our community, and shows that the hospital is successfully and consistently achieving exceptional results in patient care and satisfaction. Becker’s has published the list annually since 2011 and CCH has been included every year. For purposes of the list, Becker’s defines a “community hospital” as one with fewer than 550 beds that have minimal teaching programs. The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals based on several outside rankings and ratings organizations, including IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals, iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Center for Rural Health’s Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals, CareChex ratings, Leapfrog Group grades, Healthgrades awards and CMS stars, among other considerations. “We value this distinction greatly and are very pleased that once again Cape Cod Hospital has been named to the list,” said Michael K. Lauf, President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare, the parent company of Cape Cod Hospital. “Everyone at Cape Cod Hospital, including our exceptional physicians, providers, nurses and support staff, played an important part in earning this achievement. They take pride in providing top-level care, consistently delivered to our patients, and this honor is recognition of that fact.” Cape Cod Hospital is the only Massachusetts community hospital on the Becker’s100 Great Community Hospitals 2018 list. Becker's Hospital Review features up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems. In a press release on the list, Becker’s notes that the list is not an endorsement of the hospitals included on the list, and that organizations cannot pay for inclusion. Cape Cod Healthcare is the leading provider of healthcare services for residents and visitors of Cape Cod.
