In these workshops, Cheryl teaches the process of felting while participants enjoy creating their own unique designs. All materials are included. One of the oldest forms of textile art, felting involves matting, condensing, and pressing woolen fibers together. The increase in popularity is likely because it is easy to learn and a great way to relax and create at the same time. Whether you are an experienced felter or just starting, you can work at your own pace. It is also a social activity suitable for a group of friends or for parents and children to do together. Cheryl was born in Chicago and holds a degree in Therapeutic Recreation. People and art are her passion. She discovered the wonderful world of the fiber arts when she moved to New England and has been felting for more than fifteen years. Being a self-taught traditional wet and needle felter, there was a big learning curve. Trial and Error are her best friends, and she brings this friendly attitude to her teaching. She combines all that is around her in her work and this is sure to be an inspiring class!
