Saint Barnabas’s Historic Christmas Fair to be held Dec. 2

A Falmouth tradition since 1929

For more than 90 years, Saint Barnabas’s Christmas Fair has brought the spirit of the season to life with its bright and bountiful displays of old- fashioned and innovative items for holiday shoppers. The tradition continues with this year’s fair, to be held on Sat., Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the church’s Great Hall.

“This is a special event for parishioners and patrons—and a special time for Episcopal Church Women as we create items for the fair,” said Linn Wilson, fair co-chair with Lynn Morse. “Starting months ahead, we work on Christmas Craft Creations, bake gourmet treats, put together gift baskets, select jewelry and other items for Gramma’s Attic Treasures, decorate wreaths, and knit, sew and crochet decorative handmade items.

Shoppers’ perennial favorites include the decorated fresh balsam wreaths and table centerpieces. Also popular is the raffle, this year featuring an elaborate handmade pieced quilt plus many items from each booth.

Visitors can relax and enjoy a light lunch in the Great Hall amidst all the festivities from 9am-2pm. Lunch selections available for purchase include chowder, soups, and hot chocolate.

Saint Barnabas’s tradition of giving

Proceeds from the fair—averaging around $8,000—will support a scholarship program, the Salvation Army Dress-A-Live Doll Program which provides clothing and toys for needy children and teens, and other local charitable organizations. Hats, mittens and socks donated by visitors to the fair will be given to the Falmouth Service Center for distribution. For information on how to donate these clothing items in advance, contact the church office at 508-548-3863.

Saint Barnabas’s Memorial Episcopal Church is located at 91 Main Street, Falmouth, MA, across from the Falmouth Village Green.
