Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) is pleased to announce its “Community Media Block Party” to commemorate 30 years of dedicated service in the Town of Falmouth. The festivities are set to take place on Saturday, November 18th, from 1-4 p.m. at FCTV's headquarters located at 310E Dillingham Avenue. In a nod to old-fashioned block parties, the “Community Media Block Party” offers a blend of indoor and outdoor attractions, promising an enjoyable and memorable experience for the community. The block party is free and open to the general public. The entertainment lineup includes local DJ Evan Jones spinning vinyl records, as well as live performances by local talent, including the Pat Ryan Trio, The Dance Space, Falmouth Fiddlers, Turning Pointe Dance Studio, and hip-hop composer The Zyg 808. Additionally, FCTV will host an FCTV Member Community Mini-Fair, providing visitors with a chance to connect with local nonprofits and community groups, including Belonging To Each Other, the Cape Cod Cape Verdean Museum and Cultural Center, Falmouth Gun Safety Coalition, Falmouth Pond Coalition, Farming Falmouth, The Green Center, and Upper Cape Women’s Coalition. FCTV Organizational Members interested in reserving a table for the event are welcome, space permitting. To inquire or secure a table, please contact Kurt Achin at 508-457-0800 ext. 104 or Kurt@fctv.org. Attendees can also savor offerings from three local food trucks: BoPeeps, offering contemporary American cuisine; the Filling Station, providing farm-to-table style festival food; and Kono Pizza Cape Cod, whose unique twist on pizza is served in cones. Family fun includes games like giant chess, giant Jenga, giant Connect 4, and cornhole toss. While there, attendees can explore FCTV’s broadcast technology, including their state-of-the-art mobile production vehicle and green screen chroma key studio. Guided tours of FCTV's facilities will also be offered for those keen to delve deeper into the world of community media. The event’s final hour will be broadcast live at 4:00 PM on FCTV’s public channel, hosted by local personality Todd Gorell. This broadcast will be shown on FCTV Public Channel 13, in high-definition on our website at fctv.org, on the Falmouth Community Television Roku and Apple TV channel apps, or the Cablecast Screenweave smartphone app. The broadcast will be followed by the premiere of FCTV at 30: A Look Back.
