Falmouth, August 14, 2023 - Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kurt Achin as their new Membership and Outreach Coordinator. With an extensive background in journalism, broadcasting, and community engagement, Kurt brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role. Kurt's career spans prestigious media organizations worldwide, including Headline News and CNN International, where he served as a news writer and producer, deployed to Hong Kong to spearhead the launch of various new programs catering to regional Asian and global audiences. Throughout his tenure with these renowned networks, Kurt showcased a profound commitment to delivering accurate and informative news to viewers around the globe. Additionally, his passion for storytelling led him to a position as a bureau chief and correspondent for Voice of America News. Over seven years, he had the privilege of reporting from the vibrant cities of Seoul, South Korea, and New Delhi, India, with assignments that spanned the entire Asian region. Notably, Kurt's commitment to fostering cultural exchange and knowledge-sharing extended to his role as the host of the popular radio program Koreascape. For five years, Koreascape captivated listeners across the Seoul Metropolitan region, Gwangju, and Busan on TBSeFM, Korea's largest English-language broadcaster. After almost two decades abroad, Kurt Achin returned to his hometown of Falmouth, where he embarked on a journey to explore regenerative local agriculture. Passionate about sustainable practices and community building, Kurt became an active board member with Farming Falmouth, advocating for positive change in the local agricultural landscape. As part of his commitment to community education, Kurt currently produces the Farming Falmouth program Growing Together on the FCTV Public Channel and various educational video workshops for the organization, promoting an understanding of regenerative farming practices and environmental stewardship.
