(Hyannis, May 5, 2017) Cape Cod Healthcare is hosting a Stroke Awareness Fair at Cape Cod Hospital’s Lorusso Conference Center, 27 Park Street, Hyannis, on Thursday, May 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The goal of this community event is to educate the public, caregivers, as well as EMS professionals and first responders about the signs of stroke and the treatment of stroke patients in their care. This event is free and open to the public. Cape Cod Healthcare staff will provide presentations and interactive exhibits to help participants recognize the visible symptoms of stroke, its potential long-term effects and the latest in treatment to promote recovery. Treating stroke quickly can minimize the long-term damage this condition can cause, including damaged motor function, speech and swallowing.
