YARMOUTHPORT – The Cape Cod Foundation is now accepting grant applications for the Cape Cod Young Professionals’ (CCYP) Giving Circle Grant Program. The CCYP will award a total of $10,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations that offer projects or programs that advance the lives of young professionals on Cape Cod. The application process is entirely online; proposals must be received by midnight on Friday, June 23, 2017. Grant recipients will be announced in August. "Once again, we are thrilled to partner with The Cape Cod Foundation to offer grants to our nonprofit community,” said CCYP Executive Director Anne Van Vleck. “Collective impact is critical to moving the needle on important issues, and we believe our Giving Circle members are the change-makers and philanthropists of today and tomorrow." The philanthropic initiative, launched in 2015 in partnership with The Cape Cod Foundation, was designed to engage Giving Circle members in projects that align with specific community action items identified through the organization’s 2014 “Shape the Cape” survey. The survey was conducted to find ways to improve the recruitment and retention of young professionals and their families on Cape Cod. This year, the CCYP will award grants of $500-$2500 for initiatives in the following areas: Career Development: Programs and projects that offer job training, professional mentoring or development, job or internship placements or entrepreneurial development. Access to Housing: Programs and projects that promote increased access to year-round rental housing, first-time homeownership and creative housing solutions for the Cape’s year-round workforce. Civic Engagement: Programs and projects designed to engage young professionals in volunteerism and board service with local nonprofit organizations, civic participation in town committees or workgroups, or elected office. Only non-partisan projects will be considered. Children and Youth: Programs and projects that provide affordable childcare and/or after-school opportunities that support a family’s ability to live and work on the Cape.
