The Falmouth Jewish Congregation, the Upper Cape's only Jewish congregation, will hold an Open House for prospective members on Tuesday, August 16 from 6:30 – 7:15 P.M. Those interested in exploring their Jewish heritage and learning more about membership in this Reform Jewish congregation will have the opportunity to speak with its professional staff – Rabbi Elias J. Lieberman and Director of Lifelong Learning, Pamela Rothstein, the congregation’s officers and other members. There will be an opportunity for conversation, questions, a tour of facilities. This Open House will take place prior to and be done in time for the 7:30 P.M. screening of Rabin in His Own Words, the final film in the congregation’s Summer Jewish Film Series. The Falmouth Jewish Congregation is a vibrant, egalitarian Reform congregation affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ). Its membership represents an inclusive, participatory community with diverse traditions, practices and beliefs. All are welcomed with warmth and respect – Jews, interfaith families, and people of all ages and gender identities. For families, Falmouth Jewish Congregation offers Beit Sefer, its educational program for children from Kindergarten through grade 7, as well as a monthly adult/child preschool program, called Gan Yeladim (children’s garden). The congregation is also home to the Falmouth Jewish Cemetery, the Cape’s only such facility.
