(Hyannis, July 12, 2016) – Cape Cod Healthcare is pleased to announce that for the fifth consecutive year, Cape Cod Hospital (CCH) has been named one of America’s 100 Great Community Hospitals according to a study by Becker’s Hospital Review. This recognition is based on quality of care and service to our community, and shows that the hospital is successfully and consistently achieving top results in patient care and satisfaction. Becker’s has published this list annually since 2011 and CCH has been included every year. For purposes of the list, Becker’s defines a “community hospital” as one with fewer than 550 beds that have minimal teaching programs. To compile this list, the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on rankings and awards from organizations including iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades, CareChex, the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Leapfrog Group. Organizations cannot pay for inclusion on the list. “This recognition is extremely gratifying, as it honors the hard work and dedication of our exceptional team at Cape Cod Hospital,” said Michael K. Lauf, President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare, parent company of Cape Cod Hospital. “Our skillful group of physicians, nurses and support staff consistently provide high-quality care that the people in this region have come to rely upon. Our doctors and employees take tremendous pride in what they do, and they care deeply about our patients and this community. This award is a demonstration of that commitment.” Cape Cod Hospital is the only Massachusetts hospital on the Becker’s Top 100 Community Hospitals 2016 list.
