The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC) has announced its 2016 fellowship award winners in the areas of performing arts, visual arts, and the written word. A $1,500 fellowship has been awarded to one artist in each discipline. This is the second year of the AFCC'S Fellowship Program. In the spring of 2015, the first fellowship was awarded to Richard Neal in the area of visual arts. The AFCC is happy to include additional mediums of work this year and looks forward to expanding this program further. The AFCC 2016 Fellowship awardees are: Alex Becrelis of South Dennis - Performing Arts Christopher Busa of Provincetown - Written Word Jackie Reeves of Sandwich - Visual Arts Submissions were anonymously judged based solely on the artistic quality and creative ability of the work submitted. Applications were open to all eligible Cape Cod artists. A total of 55 applications were received: 14 in written word, 9 in performing arts, and 32 in visual arts. Our 2016 jurors spanned the country from Los Angeles to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard and included Deborah Forman, Robert Frazier, Hannah Hilliard-Bouvier, Barbara Dacey, Greg O'Connor, Stephanie Weaver, Art Devine, Mindy Todd, and Vana Trudeau. Funding for the AFCC Fellowship Program is powered by the Arts Foundation Patron Program and the Bilezikian Family Foundation.
