Hyannis, MA (June 8, 2016) – Cape Cod Healthcare’s annual Summer Charity Gala will take place on Saturday, July 30 at The Ridge Club in Sandwich. Proceeds will benefit the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Cape Cod in celebration of its 100th Anniversary. From its humble beginnings with one nurse in Woods Hole riding her bicycle to care for newborns and the sick, the VNA has grown to over 850 employees providing home health and hospice services to more than 388,000 patients annually. For the fifth year in a row, the VNA has been named to the HomeCareElite™ list of 500 top-performing home health agencies in the nation. “Over the years, our gala attendees and sponsors have raised more than $3 million to advance critical programs, initiatives and projects that have transformed healthcare on Cape Cod,” said Michael Lauf, president and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare. “This is an occasion to celebrate the great work of all those at the VNA who are helping to bring best practices in home healthcare to our residents of Cape Cod, the islands and beyond.” The 2016 Summer Charity Gala is generously supported by local businesses, including presenting sponsors Lyndon Paul Lorusso Charitable Foundation, Royal Health Group and Dellbrook/JKS. The event begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception followed by dinner, a live auction and dancing to Soul Sound Revue. Auctioneer Charlie Bailey Gates will present several one-of-a-kind experiences for the live auction - from a charter sailing yacht getaway in the Bahamas to a Mirbeau Inn and Spa package complete with golf at historic Plymouth Country Club.
