YARMOUTHPORT – The Cape Cod Foundation has unveiled a new web-based platform, CONNECT Cape Cod. This launch is the result of a community-wide visioning and planning process with organizations from across Cape Cod, facilitated by The Cape Cod Foundation. Through extensive community conversations, a broad base of nonprofit constituents identified that the community needed a central access point to tie together existing resources and information. CONNECT Cape Cod will serve as this point for nonprofit information across the region. It offers vital data valuable for connecting people to services, mapping local resources, programs and community needs, as well as data for use in nonprofit funding requests. CONNECT Cape Cod also includes interactive tools for nonprofits, government, funders and other stakeholders. The functionality of the tool is broad, and the site will continue to be enhanced over time. Created by the Urban Institute’s National Center for Charitable Statistics, the tool was purchased by The Cape Cod Foundation who collaborated with staff at the Urban Institute to customize the information and presentation for Cape Cod. The appeal of the site is broad though it is anticipated that three key audiences will utilize it most: local nonprofit organizations; community members; and funders and researchers. “The Cape Cod Foundation is pleased to have facilitated conversations with other local nonprofits and community members to better ascertain their needs and help identify a tool that will meet them,” said Kristin O’Malley, Executive Director of The Cape Cod Foundation. “CONNECT Cape Cod offers a breadth of information and knowledge that we know many will find useful in their daily work, efforts for collaboration and funding requests.” Learn more at www.connectcapecod.org The Cape Cod Foundation is a community foundation whose mission is to build permanent charitable resources for community betterment through informed grantmaking and civic leadership.
